Traslacion during the Feast of the Black Nazarene will once again be canceled due to the remaining threats of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a report by GMA News Thursday, the annual Traslacion “will be celebrated similarly to what was done in 2021.”

There will also be no procession from Quirino Grandstand as the venue is still being used as a field hospital for COVID-19 patients, Fr. Douglas Badong of Quiapo Church said.

Badong said that, unlike the previous celebration, they are preparing for the huge crowd expected to visit Quiapo Church next year, especially if Metro Manila is downgraded to Alert Level 1, the least restrictive quarantine category.

Meanwhile, Police said the same protocols implemented during the 2021 Black Nazarene feast will remain implemented during the feast. – WhatALife.ph
