It’s official! Mayor Sara Duterte will be joining the May 2022 polls running for Vice President.
Through her representative Atty Charo Munsayac, Mayor Duterte filed her candidacy Saturday as the substitute of Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) candidate Lyle Uy.
The Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) earlier adopted Mayor Duterte as the running mate of its standard-bearer Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.
Commission on Elections (Comelec) spokesperson James Jimenez had said candidates from different political parties can campaign and endorse one another.
“Yes, they can. That is not prohibited by law,” he said in a tweet.
Comelec allows the substitution of candidates—if either of the following took place: candidate dies, withdraws, or is disqualified by the poll body— until November 15. – WhatALife.ph
