Gela Atayde, the younger sister of actress Ria Atayde, has clarified rumors circulating on social media about her sister’s alleged pregnancy with fiancé Zanjoe Marudo.
Dismissing the speculation as false, Gela emphasized the health challenges Ria faces due to Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), a condition that could complicate her efforts to conceive.
Gela, who recently appeared in the hit Kapamilya series “Senior High,” stated in an interview with ABS-CBN that the news about Ria’s pregnancy is unfounded and highlighted the diagnosis of PCOS that Ria received, which makes pregnancy a difficult journey for her.
Despite these challenges, the family remains hopeful and supportive of Ria and Zanjoe’s desire to start their own family, especially as Ria approaches an age where they feel it’s time to consider having children.
““For me I can’t say much yet. For now, no. They’re trying that’s for sure. My sister has PCOS and it would be a miracle if she has a child,” Gela shared, reflecting on the complex path that lies ahead for Ria in her quest for motherhood.
She added, “Well, at least my parents also are supportive for that my sister nga kasi is at the age, turning 32 this year medyo kailangan na din.”
Gela expressed her wholehearted approval of Zanjoe as her future brother-in-law and recounted her emotional reaction to their engagement news.
“I love Kuya Z, I was so happy that when they told me, I cried. I love how Kuya Z proposed to her, he just did it in bed just both of them just woke up so we weren’t there,” she remarked, highlighting the genuine affection and bond between the couple.
