CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, PHILIPPINES — PESO head Kathleen Kate Sorilla presented the Secretary’s Bayanihan Service Award 2021 to Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy after Job Placement Bureau – PESO Cagayan de Oro City won as a National Finalist in the Highly Urbanized City category at the National PESO Congress.
The Secretary’s Bayanihan Service Award 2021 was announced during the 22nd National PESO Congress held at SMX Convention, Clark, Mabalacat City, Pampanga on October 25, 2022. There, the JPB (Job Placement Bureau) – PESO Cagayan de Oro became a National Finalist for the Highly Urbanized City category.
DOLE’s PESO program has delivered extraordinary public services to jobless Kagayanons even in the most difficult times of the pandemic.
Mayor Uy said in a Facebook post, “The pandemic experienced was so remarkable to us as this implies the true meaning of public service delivery to our people for the common good. I would like to thank the men and women of JPB-PESO for the exemplary work you have done to make it to the finals.”
Secretary’s Bayanihan Service Award – 2021
The Secretary’s Bayanihan Service Award – 2021 is a specialized award granted to those who contributed greatly in the trying times of the pandemic. To receive the award, the PESO office was evaluated in three aspects, namely, Innovation, Resilience, and Humanitarian Services.
First, Innovation, where the agency delivered various creative programs and services to repatriated OFWs, Locally Stranded Individuals, and separated workers. Second, Resilience through continued delivery of PESO’s core functions to the public even at the height of the pandemic. Lastly, Humanitarian Services, the services the agency delivered that went beyond that of the regular PESO mandate, including contribution to the healing and bettering of the nation. – WhatALife!/Zed
