The 2024 Oscar nominations were announced on Tuesday morning, January 23. “Oppenheimer”, “Poor Things”, and “Killers of the Flower Moon” were among the dominating nominations.

Christopher Nolan’s movie “Oppenheimer” emerged as a frontrunner in the Oscar race, securing an impressive 13 nominations. Following closely behind is the fantasy film “Poor Things,” featuring Emma Stone, with 11 nominations, and Martin Scorsese’s drama “Killers of the Flower Moon” with 10 nominations.

Nolan’s extensive three-hour film, which explores the life of the atomic bomb’s creator, earned nominations across various categories, including Best Picture, Best Director, and acting nods for Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr, and Emily Blunt.

Martin Scorsese’s grand portrayal of the Osage Nation murders in Oklahoma during the 1920s garnered 11 nominations. Lily Gladstone, who played a significant role in the film, made history as the first Native American actress to receive an Oscar nomination, particularly for Best Actress.



Greta Gerwig’s film centered around the character Barbie received eight nominations. These include recognition in categories such as Best Picture, a Best Supporting Actor nod for Ryan Gosling, and two nominations for Best Song – “What Was I Made For” and “I’m Just Ken.”
