On Tuesday, July 27, Netflix Philippines announced its new list of film titles and television shows next month.


What’s coming to Netflix this August 2021?

August 6: Vivo – an upcoming animated musical comedy film produced by Sony Pictures Animation, featuring the voices of Ynairaly Simo, Zoe Saldana, Juan de Marcos González, among many others. The film follows a one-of-a-kind kinkajou (a tropical rainforest mammal) named Vivo, who spends his days playing music to the crowds in a lively Havana square with his beloved owner Andrés.

August 9: Shaman King – Based on the manga series of the same name, Shaman King follows the story of a middle-schooler who met a young shaman in pursuit of becoming the next Shaman King.



August 11: The Kissing Booth 3 – The third and final installment of the teen romantic comedy film ‘The Kissing Booth‘ series, starring Joey King, Joel Courtney, and Jacob Elordi.

August 13: Beckett – an upcoming thriller film about an American tourist who becomes a target of a manhunt after a devastating accident.

Starring John David Washington, Boyd Holbrook, Vicky Krieps

August 15: Bliss – a 2017 Philippine psychological thriller film that follows a successful actress who got involved in an accident that left her disabled. As she hides away from the spotlight, she found herself trapped in her own home, slowly descending into madness.

August 15: Sunday Beauty Queen – a 2016 Philippine documentary film that follows a group of expatriate domestic workers in Hong Kong amidst their preparation to take part in an annual beauty pageant.

August 17: Keeping Up With The Kardashians (Season 5) – the fifth season of the American reality television series that follows the personal and professional lives of the Kardashian-Jenner family.

August 19: A Far Away Land – an upcoming Filipino movie set in the Danish territory, the Faroe Islands, located somewhere southeast of Iceland.

August 20: The Chair – a 2021 American television series about the trials and tribulations of the first woman of color who become an English department chair at a major university.

August 20: The Loud House Movie – an upcoming animated musical comedy film based on the popular Nickelodeon series with the same name.

Featuring voices of Asher Bishop, Catherine, Taber, Liliana Mumy

August 20: Sweet Girl – an upcoming American action thriller film about a devastated widower who vows to bring justice to the people responsible for his wife’s deaths while protecting the only family he has left, his daughter.

Starring Jason Momoa, Isabela Merced, Manuel Gacia-Rulfo

August 23: The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf – an upcoming South Korean-American animated dark fantasy film spin-off of the Netflix series The Witcher, focused on Geralt’s mentor and fellow witcher Vesemir.

August 25: Clickbait – an upcoming American-Australian thriller miniseries featuring the dangerous ways and uncontrolled impulses in the age of social media.

Starring Zoe Kazan, Betty Gabriel, Adrian Grenier

August 27: He’s All That – The 2021 American teen romantic comedy film is a gender-swapped remake of 1999 She’s All That, which tells about a girl who accepts a challenge to turn the school’s least popular boy into a prom king.

Starring Addison Rae, Tanner Buchanan, Myra Molloy

August 28: Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha – a remake of the 2004 South Korean film Mr. Handy, Mr. Hong set in the seaside village of Gongjin.

Starring Kim Seon-ho, Shin Min-a, Lee Sang-yi

August 31: Sparking Joy – a reality series featuring Japanese consultant Mari Kondo who brings joy to people struggling to balance work and home life by helping and sharing with them her tidying tactics.
