On the 15th anniversary of the passing of iconic Filipino artist Francis Magalona, his daughter, Maxene Magalona, took to Instagram to share a heartfelt tribute.

Maxene posted a series of throwback pictures featuring moments with the Master Rapper, along with cherished memories spent with her siblings.

In a touching message accompanying the photos, Maxene expressed her love for her late father, stating, “This is me trying to send love to my father’s spirit, wherever he may be. We lost him 15 years ago.” She continued, “I love you, Pop! I hope to make you proud.”

The actress also shared a quote from Jamie Anderson about grief, emphasizing the connection between grief and love.

The quote reads, “Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go.”

On the same day, Maxene visited her father’s grave, commemorating the 15th year since Francis M’s death due to leukemia.

Maxene has consistently honored her father’s memory, and last year, on what would have been his 59th birthday, she affectionately referred to him as “the goat” (Greatest of All Time) and encouraged fans to play his songs.

Maxene released a stripped-down version of Francis M’s classic “Kaleidoscope World,” emphasizing the enduring significance of the ’90s hit.

She dedicated her healing journey to her late father, expressing her love and appreciation through her artistic endeavors.

In 2022, Francis M’s hologram appeared at the Eraserheads reunion concert, performing alongside his sons Elmo and Arkin in the opening number “Superproxy.”

Francis “Kiko” Magalona’s legacy lives on through his timeless hits, including “Mga Kababayan,” “3 Stars and a Sun,” and “Ito ang Gusto Ko.”
