Getting into your dream school isn’t always straightforward, especially if you don’t have the financial means to pay for tuition and other educational expenses. Fortunately, many institutions and government agencies believe in the importance of education, and these groups collaborate to ensure that everyone has access to education. Furthermore, many businesses create foundations and CSR (corporate social responsibility) divisions to help worthy students achieve their goals.

If you’re looking for student help, here’s a list of private scholarships in 2022 that you can apply for right now in the Philippines.

SM Scholarship

Mr. Henry Sy, Sr. and Mrs. Felicidad T. Sy founded the SM Foundation in 1983 with the core principle of PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE. The foundation, which has served as the heart of the Sys’ SM Group Companies, aims to empower people in their communities through health care, disaster response, shelter, environmental programs, special needs care, and education.

For more than two decades, the SM Foundation has run a scholarship program for college students. SM College Scholarship believes that education is the most important factor in overcoming poverty, and the SM Foundation helps young people reach their full potential and realize their ambitions through the scholarship program.

Aboitiz Scholarship

The Aboitiz scholarship for the year 2022 is now accepting applications. A great education, according to Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc. (AEV), offers a firm basis on which to build extraordinary leadership qualities. AEV has developed the Aboitiz Scholarship program, which aims to encourage and motivate students to value, appreciate, and maximize their educational opportunities.

Students in the Philippines pursuing undergraduate degrees in STEM or business-related areas no longer have to be concerned about the expense of their education. As part of their business social responsibility, the Aboitiz Scholarship program in 2022 will cover the majority of your educational costs (CSR).

Pagpupugay Scholarship (BPI Foundation)

In the fight against COVID-19, BPI appreciates the significant achievements of medical front-line personnel. To celebrate their bravery, BPI Foundation, the bank’s social development arm, established PAGPUPUGAY, a scholarship program to help the relatives of medical first responders who died or caught COVID-19 while on the job.

Each scholar will receive a scholarship money of approximately Php 100,000.00 every academic year to cover tuition fees and other miscellaneous expenditures, which will be paid directly to BPIF’s partner institution. Financial aid will only pay school expenses for the regular school year / semester / trimester and will not, in any case, reimburse school fees originating from or related to the summer term, unless the summer term is required by the course curriculum. The financial aid would cover monthly living and studying expenses for scholars from public institutions and colleges.

Five (5) scholars were selected in 2020, to be evaluated for renewal annually. For Academic Year 2021-2022, five (5) additional scholars  will be selected. For the Academic year 2022-2023, we will wait for further instructions.

Iskolar ni Juan

The Gokongwei Brothers Foundation (GBF) and Universal Robina Corporation (URC) have teamed together to create Iskolar ni Juan, a scholarship program for new Filipino college students from low-income families who have strong academic records. Beneficiaries of the Iskolar ni Juan program will have access to TESDA-registered GBF Technical Courses for technical-vocational training. Scholars who complete the program will be eligible for a National Certificate Level II, which will allow them to work in URC facilities.

Note: They highly prioritize applicants from the following areas: Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon Province, Pampanga, and Tarlac.

Ayala Foundation Scholarship 

The Ayala Scholarship was established to provide educational opportunities to the children of Grepalife employees and sales colleagues. Later, it was expanded to include deserving Filipino teenagers from low-income households and cultural minority groups.

Deadline for Application: December 15, 2022. 

PHINMA Scholarship 

Through the PHINMA National Scholarship, you can receive 100% financial help, a monthly allowance of Php 3,000.00, a book allowance of Php 2,000.00, and much more. PHINMA is a real estate company that offers educational opportunities.. PHINMA also provides mentorship to scholars through the Big Brother and Big Sister Program (BBBS).

Megaworld Foundation, INC.

Megaworld is based on the idea that a company exists to help others. it thinks that they must not only perform well but also give back to the communities in which we live. This belief has fueled efforts to give back to society through the Megaworld Foundation, the company’s socio-civic arm.

Metrobank Foundation

Because the Metrobank Foundation believes that education plays a significant role in poverty eradication, a scholarship program was founded in 1995 to provide exceptional educational opportunities to academically brilliant but financially challenged children. This goal was achieved through the establishment of numerous scholarship programs.
