MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Katrina Halili is mourning the loss of her boyfriend, former Vice Mayor Jeremy Guiab of Wao, Lanao Del Sur, who passed away on Sunday, January 28.

On Monday, January 29, the actress posted a picture of a man on her Instagram page, whose face was not visible.

As per reports, Guiab suffered a heart attack while at Halili’s residence in New Manila, Quezon City. Halili promptly took him to St. Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.



In the comment section of the actress’s post, condolences were extended by fans and fellow celebrities such as Kris Bernal, Jackie Lou Blanco, Carla Abellana, and Camille Prats.

Quezon City councilor Don De Leon, a friend of Guiab, honored the former politician through a Facebook post.

“My best friend, my brother, my confidant and partner. Jeremy G. Guiab succumbed to a fatal heart attack at around 5:00 PM today,” De Leon said on Sunday. “Together with his family, we ask for prayers, for his soul’s eternal rest with our Lord. A precious life gone too soon.”

In another post, De Leon revealed that Guiab’s wake is scheduled to take place in Quezon City until Thursday, February 1.



During a previous interview on “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” Katrina mentioned that Jeremy played a crucial role in helping her raise her daughter, Katie.

Siya ‘yung mas nagtuturo sa akin, kasi stubborn ako, ‘di ba? Stubborn din ‘yung anak ko. So medyo mahirap kaming dalawa, minsan nawawalan ako ng pasensiya, siya ‘yung mas kalmado. Tinutulungan niya ako talaga,” Katrina said. 

Siya ‘yung mag-uusap, siya ‘yung kakausapin ako, kakausapin niya ‘yung anak ko,” she added.
