MANILA, PHILIPPINES – After eleven years together, one of the Philippines’ top loveteams, KathNiel confirms breakup.
In an Instagram post shared by Kathryn Bernardo, she captioned, “Chapter closed. I hope this finally helps all of us move forward. I won’t be entertaining questions regarding this anymore. Thank you for understanding.”
The post detailed the prominent actress’ sentiments about her breakup with her long-term boyfriend, Daniel Padilla. The two were first paired in the Filipino coming-of-age TV show Growing Up as Ella and Patrick.
The actress shared that the past couple of months have been tough for the duo since their breakup and the speculations surrounding their relationship since it took them a while to confirm KathNiel’s breakup.
The loveteam’s other half, Daniel Padilla, better known as DJ to fans, also posted via Instagram with the caption “Ikaw at ako”. The actor declared his love for Kath and said that his love for her will always be there.
Fans have been speculating about KathNiel’s breakup for a few months now since the couple is already barely seen together. A few years ago, the couple publicly agreed to do more independent showbiz projects but have always been there publicly to support the other as well. However, this wasn’t the case for Kathryn’s latest movie, “A Very Good Girl,” where the actor wasn’t present, and speculations began to arise.
In her post confirming their breakup, the actress made it a point to address their long-term fans, stating, “KathNiels, we know you are hurting, and trust me, this also hurts us both more than you can imagine…. We hope you understand that this is something we need. We hope you can join us in this healing process and not let those precious moments go to waste. Kaya natin ‘to.”
KathNiel’s breakup has been a hot topic in Philippine pop culture for a few weeks now, and Filipinos finally have their answer. The couple shared in their posts that they have drifted apart over the last few years but still have love for each other.
