The Philippine official gazette has declared March 15 a special non-working holiday not in the whole Philippines, but exclusively in Bauko, Mountain Province.

This holiday, as per Proclamation No. 479, s. 2024, is only in the said province and is in line with the celebration of its Begnas di Bauko Festival. 

According to the proclamation signed by the President and Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, “it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Municipality of Bauko be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration.”

The declaration emphasizes that designating March 15 as an additional special non-working holiday aims to provide the people of Bauko with a full opportunity to partake in the celebration surrounding their Festival.
