Elisia Parmisano confirms debut in Universe Ticket’s new K-pop girl group

MANILA, Philippines – Filipino trainee Elisia Parmisano made history by becoming the first member to debut in the upcoming K-pop girl group PRISM in the South Korean survival show “Universe Ticket.”

On Thursday, Korean broadcaster SBS released a video on YouTube showcasing Parmisano achieving the “P” ranking, a prerequisite for securing a position in the upcoming female act. The 18-minute video chronicles Elisia’s experiences and progress throughout the program.

Parmisano is a participant in the SBS K-pop survival program Universe Ticket, which premiered in November 2023. The show features 82 female K-pop trainees from various parts of the world, competing to secure one of the eight positions in PRISM.

In Universe Ticket, contestants are evaluated and classified into five levels (P, R, I, S, and M) based on their performance in each episode. The Filipina contestant successfully advanced to the P Level, the highest tier on the show, becoming the inaugural member of PRISM.



Elisia received congratulations on Instagram from Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and the Primetime Queen of Kapuso, Marian Rivera.

“This little girl is all grown up now and making a name for herself in the K-pop world,” Velasquez wrote in the caption of her Instagram post.

“Ipagpatuloy mo ‘yang mga pangarap na ‘yan at alam kong marami ka pang magagawa at mararating,” Marian Rivera said.

Meanwhile, another opportunity for a Filipina trainee, Gehlee Dangca, to potentially debut alongside Parmisano in PRISM. Currently holding the second position, Dangca is near the completion of the second-highest level on the show, the R Level. Jin Hyeon-ju, a Korean-Filipina and a member of the K-pop girl group Cignature, is also among the remaining 15 contestants who have a chance at making their debut.



This development occurred merely two months after the introduction of 20-year-old Sophia Laforteza as the inaugural member of KATSEYE, a K-pop girl group formed through collaboration between HYBE Labels and Geffen Records.

Additional Filipinas making strides in the K-pop scene include Chantal Vidal, recognized as Chanty, who is part of the six-member girl group Lapillus.
