City Health Officials announced nine new positive cases for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Cagayan de Oro on Monday, August 31. In today’s press briefing, City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery reported nine new COVID-19 confirmed cases, of which four are local cases and one is a returning overseas Filipino (ROF) worker, and five are locally stranded individuals (LSIs). The total cumulative cases for COVID-19 in the city is 291. Out of the cumulative total, 84 or 28.86 percent are active cases, six currently admitted at Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC), 22 outpatients staying at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility (TTMF), and 56 cases under the ROF/LSI category. Dr. Nery also announced 16 new recoveries, bringing the total recovery count to 196 (67.35%), while two new deaths were added, total now at 11 (3.7%). Of the 291 cumulative total, 224 are under the LSI/ROF category, constituting 76.97 percent, with 56 active cases, 1 death (ROF), and 167 recovered. Meanwhile, local cases rise to 67 , bringing the total percentage to 23 percent, with 22 active cases, ten deaths, and 29 recoveries. • Went for a checkup at a private hospital on August 28

• Transferred to NMMC on August 29 morning; Expired
• 16 identified close contacts
• With comorbidity

288th Case: 43-year-old female, Local case

• A resident of Barangay Bugo
• Visited a dialysis center on August 27
• Experienced chest pain and shortness of breath
• Swabbed in NMMC on August 27; Result came out positive on August 28
• Identified 34 direct contacts, including the healthcare workers from the dialysis center and household

• A healthcare worker in a private hospital
• Exposed to 255th Case on August 22
• Placed under strict home quarantine from August 24-30;
• Transferred to a private hospital isolation
• Swabbed on August 26; Result came out positive on August 30

• Identified 2 close family contact and co-workers

290th Case: 45 male, LSI from Manila

• Nazareth
• Arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on August 23
• Staying at CIU

• Asymptomatic; no comorbidity
• Contact tracing is ongoing

291st Case: 19-year-old female, LSI from Manila

• A resident of Barangay Pagalungan
• Arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on August 22

• Swabbed on August 28; Result came out positive on August 30
• Asymptomatic; no comorbidity
• Contact tracing is ongoing
