MANILA, Philippines – In an interview on ‘Toni Talks’ with Toni Gonzaga, Alden Richards clarified that he and Maine Mendoza are neither married nor have children.
During the vlog, a fan’s comment claiming evidence of the former love team’s marriage and three children was displayed on the widescreen TV behind Richards and Gonzaga.
Alden Richards believed that the matter would fade away after Maine Mendoza revealed her relationship with Arjo Atayde.
“All along akala ko by the time na, of course, Maine and Arjo and they became public and they got married eventually …Nandiyan pa rin ‘yun (mga tsismis),” Alden said.
“I already said my piece about this. It’s not true. Wala pong katotohanan lahat. Wala po kaming anak. We never got married. We don’t have a love child. But right now po I’m at a point na, masaya po sila roon eh, tatanggalin ko pa ba?” Richards continued.
“Ira-rub ko pa ba sa mga buhay nila na, ‘wala nga, huwag kayong makulit.’ I’m not that kind of person. I always support the happiness of people,” he added.
Richards disclosed having a sincere conversation with Mendoza before her marriage to Atayde in July 2022, during which he apparently “shared everything” with her. However, he chose not to elaborate on the subject.
Meanwhile, Alden Richards said he’s tired of hearing rumors about his gender identity.
“Sa tingin niyo bading, fine,” Alden said.

“Ang iniisip ko nga minsan, kapag may ganu’ng mga rumors, wala na bang iba?” he added.
Alden pointed out how readily people judge a celebrity’s gender identity, especially for men who aren’t in a relationship.
After his 32nd birthday on January 2, Richards was nominated for Best Actor for his role in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) film “Family of Two,” in which he co-starred with Sharon Cuneta.
