WEATHER UPDATE — According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the Low-Pressure Area (LPA) being monitored near Mindanao is now 575 km east of Davao City. It is less likely to become a tropical cyclone within the next 48 hours.
The LPA being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) continues to bring rain over parts of Mindanao and Visayas.
The weather agency reports the LPA has a slight chance of becoming a tropical storm in the next 48 hours.
No other LPA is spotted near the PAR. Meanwhile, the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan continues to bring light rains over northern Luzon.
WEATHER TODAY – JANUARY 25, 2023
For today’s weather forecast, the eastern section of Luzon, particularly Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, Aurora, Quezon, and Bicol Region, may expect cloudy skies and rain for the whole day due to the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan.
The rest of Luzon is forecast to have fair weather conditions with chances of isolated light rains. Temperatures range from 23 degrees Celcius to 32 degrees Celsius in Manila.
Meanwhile, most of Visayas and Mindanao, such as eastern and central Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region, may experience cloudy skies and rain due to the Low-Pressure Area.
The rest of Visayas and Mindanao are forecast to have fair weather conditions with chances of rain due to localized thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and evening. Temperatures range from 24 degree Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius.
PAGASA continues to issue a gale warning to areas in Luzon and Eastern Visayas. Waves are expected to reach up to 4.5 meters. See the full list below:
