PAGASA: Easterlies bring rains over eastern portion of PH

WEATHER UPDATE — According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the easterlies bring rains over the eastern portion of the country. Meanwhile, no Low-Pressure Area (LPA) is currently being monitored by the weather agency.

Today, Bicol, Quezon Province, Eastern Visayas, CARAGA, and Davao have high chances of rain due to the easterlies. The rest of the country may expect fair weather conditions with chances of isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

The weather agency confirms no LPA inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). There is also a small chance of an LPA this week. However, at least two tropical storms are still expected to arrive within the month of December.

WEATHER TODAY – DECEMBER 5, 2022

For today’s weather forecast, Quezon Province and Bicol Region may experience cloudy skies with heavy rains due to the easterlies. Meanwhile, the rest of Luzon is forecast to have fair weather with chances of isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms. 



The eastern portion of Visayas, including the Samar, Leyte, and Biliran areas, is forecast to have cloudy skies and heavy rains due to the same weather system (easterlies). Western and Central Visayas may expect fair weather with temperatures as high as 31 degrees Celcius and as low as 26 degrees Celcius.

Most of Mindanao is forecast to have fair weather with chances of isolated rain showers, except for CARAGA and Davao Region. These areas may expect cloudy skies and heavy rains due to the easterlies.

A gale warning has also been issued to Batanes, the northern coast of Cagayan, including the Babuyan Islands, and the northern coast of Ilocos Norte. Waves are forecast to reach from 2.8 to 4.5 meters.
