XU’s “Campus of the Future” first look features state-of-the-art school buildings and administration facilities
Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan (XU) on Friday, August 20, unveiled the virtual look of its “Campus of the Future” project after finally receiving the seal of approval from the Vatican.
“The new campus features state-of-the-art school buildings and administration facilities to cater to the academic courses of XU’s colleges and schools,” Xavier Ateneo said in a Facebook post. “It will be adaptable to developments in academic disciplines, 21st-century learning curriculum, and technological innovations.”
“The Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, having attentively examined the documents submitted, grants the request in conformity with the petition,” reads the Letter of Approval from the Vatican.
In light of the good news, XU President Fr Mars P Tan SJ expressed his excitement about the university’s future campus.
“This is good news for those who truly value education and formation of our young people and I am excited and happy because this will fulfill Xavier Ateneo’s dream to give the best Jesuit education possible in the region and in Mindanao,” Tan said.
“First-class education needs first-class building and campus design,” Fr Tan added.
The 63.5-hectare property of XU in Manresa will be transformed, in collaboration with Cebu Landmasters Inc (CLI), into “a premier university township” for the next 8-10 years.
