LANAO DEL NORTE, PHILIPPINES – Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio visited Munai, Lanao del Norte, to pay her respects to the six soldiers who were killed in a recent military operation against the Dawlah Islamiyah terrorist group.
The Vice President joined hundreds of mourners, including military officials and families of the fallen soldiers, in a solemn ceremony held at the Municipal Hall.
During her speech, she expressed her deepest condolences and vowed that the government would provide all necessary assistance to the bereaved families.
She added.
The Vice President also commended the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) for their successful operation against Dawlah Islamiyah, which resulted in the neutralization of several key members of the terrorist group.
However, she acknowledged the challenges and risks involved in such operations and emphasized the importance of providing adequate support to the troops.
Duterte acclaimed.
The Vice President’s visit to Lanao del Norte comes amid ongoing concerns about the security situation in Mindanao.
The region has long been plagued by terrorism and violence, and the recent clashes with Dawlah Islamiyah have highlighted the continuing threat posed by extremist groups.
