WEATHER UPDATE — According to the Philippines Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the center of the eye of Typhoon EGAY was estimated on all available data at 200 km West Southwest of Basco, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 150 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 185 km/h.
The typhoon is currently moving Northwestward at 15 km/h. Southwest Monsoon is affecting Southern Luzon and Visayas as well.
Weather Today – July 27, 2023
Ilocos Norte, Batanes, and Babuyan Islands will be stormy because of Typhoon Egay as it has impacted the areas with possible flooding for landslides due to heavy to intense rains. There will be significant to extreme threat to lives and properties due to strong winds.
Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Ilocos Region, mainland Cagayan, and Isabela will rain with gusty winds causing flooding or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains. There will be minimal to minor threat to lives and properties due to strong winds caused by the typhoon.
Zambales, Bataan, Occidental mindoro, Northern Palawan including Calamian and Cuyo Islands will have Monsoon rains caused by the typhoon and Southwest Monsoon causing flooding or landslides due to scattered to widespread rains.
Metro Manila, the rest of Cagayan Valley, the rest of Central Luzon, the rest of MIMAROPA, and CALABARZON will have Occasional rains due to Southwest Monsoon causing flooding or landslides during heavy rains.
Bicol Region, Mindanao, and Visayas wil have cloudy skies with rain showers or thunderstorms caused by Southwest Monsoon with possible flash floods or landslides.
With Typhoon EGAY still being over Northern Luzon, there are areas significantly affected by the heavy rain and strong winds. PAGASA has advised flooding signals to an extreme level on some of the areas as it is also a threat to lives.
