TNT’s SIM Registration ‘Hu u po?’ Video Thrills Viewers

tnt sim registration video hu u po video thrills viewers

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — TNT excites but reminds viewers of what could take place if one fails to register their SIM before the deadline on April 26 through a video ad, “Hu u po?”

With more than 14 million views on TikTok and 8 million views on YouTube in just two days, the video has quickly gone viral overnight.

The Youtube ad with the Title “Hu U Po” (Who are you?) began with a father and son watching TV when a woman outside the door started knocking insistently and begging to be let in as she was under the heavy rain.

The mom’s identity in the TNT video represents those who had failed to register their SIM and were, therefore, permanently deactivated. Meanwhile, the father and son are registered SIM owners who are cautious of potential scams.

SIM Card Registration Deadline Set on April 26, 2023

Using humor, TNT delivers a strong message about the need to register one’s SIM. Failing to register would mean permanent deactivation and being unable to receive one-time passwords (OTP) for banking applications or mobile wallets. Savings and wallet credits will also become inaccessible.

Access to all the other apps linked to a mobile number with an unregistered SIM, such as social media apps, messaging apps, and delivery apps, would no longer be available; a forgotten password linked to the mobile number could not be recovered.

“As the April 26 deadline for SIM registration approaches, we want to remind our customers of the critical need to register their SIM. Failure to do so will lead to permanent SIM deactivation and therefore disconnection from the digital world we rely on daily,” said Francis E. Flores, SVP and Head of Consumer Wireless Business–Individual at Smart. – WhatALife! Anthony
