MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Korean heartthrobs Lee Jong-suk and Shin Jae-ha made their fans’ hearts flutter as they joined forces for a fun-filled fan meeting in Manila last Sunday, April 16.

The two actors engaged in various activities and production numbers that brought double the excitement to their fans who flocked to the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.

The duo also showcased their dancing skills, grooving to BTS’ hit song “Dynamite” and the latest K-pop sensation “Hype Boy” by rising girl group New Jeans.

Lee’s last visit to the Philippines was in 2018 for a fan meeting called “Lee Jong Suk Fan Meeting Tour Crank Up in Manila, with his “While You Were Sleeping” co-star.

Pinoy boyband BGYO opened the event for Lee Jong-suk. As soon as the actor appeared on stage, fans started screaming and cheering for him.

The Korean actor is known for his roles in ‘Doctor Stranger,’ ‘While You Were Sleeping,’ ‘Pinocchio,’ and ‘Big Mouth,’

The Korean star spoke in Filipino and even uttered “Gwapo,” which earned squeals from his fans. Regardless of his plain white tee or denim-over-denim attire, the actor still managed to make his fans shriek and scream in delight throughout the night.

“I really felt your energy,” he said, adding that he rested well after arriving in Manila and exercised to prepare for the fan meeting.

“First of all, I feel sorry for my Filipino fans who waited for me [to come back] as it’s been five years since we last saw each other,” he added.

Tasting Filipino food

Lee Jong-suk and Shin Jae-ha played a game of tasting Filipino food during the fan meet. Shin fed a blindfolded Lee Filipino food, and he tried to guess its equivalent Korean dish.

He tried pansit, which is equivalent to Korea’s japchae; Choco Mallows, which tasted like Choco Pie in Korea; and espasol. Shin Jae-ha also had a shot of Ginebra San Miguel gin, which tasted like Korea’s soju, he said.  – WhatALife!/Jayve
