In a candid interview with Karen Davila, actress Ruffa Gutierrez officially confirmed her relationship with actor-politician Herbert Bautista. For a long time, Ruffa had kept her romantic life private, but now she reveals that their relationship is indeed serious.
When Karen asked, “So, it’s serious with Herbert?” Ruffa responded, “It’s always serious with him. I’ll never go into a relationship that’s not serious. I’m always the serious type.”
Ruffa shared that she believes a quieter personal life leads to more happiness. “I think now it’s just better that a quiet personal life leads to more happiness. You know, it’s not there to front, ‘Hey, baby, good morning. I love you’ on Instagram. Like, how cringe, ‘di ba? You can flex slightly,” she said.
The actress revealed that they started dating after working together on the 2020 Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla series, “The House Arrest of Us.” Their first date was quite special as Herbert made sure to include Ruffa’s daughters, Venice and Lorin.
“Very proper. Sinundo kami sa bahay tapos sinama ‘yung mga anak ko. Sabi niya, ‘I wanna meet them,’ and to make sure that they’re okay with him and everyone is comfortable. And that was Christmas time,” Ruffa recalled.
Family Approval and Support
Her daughters, Venice and Lorin, have expressed their approval of Herbert. Venice said, “Her current partner now, he’s lovely, he’s a nice guy, he suits her really well, and she is ecstatic about him. Of course, I’m very happy for him, and again, if she’s happy, I’m happy.”
Lorin added, “I do. He’s very funny,” and shared that Herbert played a significant role in encouraging Ruffa to return to school during the pandemic. “I do think that the telltale sign that this is real and that this is a really strong connection is that he helped her get back into school and really encouraged that for her.”
Ruffa emphasized her commitment to keeping her relationship private to maintain her happiness. “I think now it’s just better that a quiet personal life leads to more happiness. I’ll never go into a relationship that’s not serious. I’m always the serious type,” she reiterated.
