Valorant’s new agent Iso is coming for the seventh episode of Act 3 on October 31, 2023. Iso is equipped to be a duelist assassin in the game.
One of the biggest questions from players is the new agent’s ethnicity. Riot Games revealed that Iso is from China in honor of the game being launched in the country this year.
Riot initially teased a Chinese agent earlier this year by sharing an image in the “duckblood” teaser. The teaser name is a popular Chinese dish and delicacy in Nanjing.
Valorant’s game designer, Nicholas (popularly known as Nickwu) Smith, shared that Valorant’s new agent is “precise and confident. He’s meant to embody that gun precision and be rewarded for it with unyielding confidence through his shield and slick gunplay.”
Moreover, Iso can use ambient energy to give himself shields. Iso’s E ability is called “Double Tap” which gives him a shield that blocks one occurrence of damage. Players must first gain a kill or assist teammates to gain this ability.
Iso’s ultimate Kill Contract may madden some users. Iso can pull opponents, and the first enemy hit into a one-on-one duel. This ultimate Kill Contract has a custom arena that keeps other opponents out.
Nickwu proceeded to share about Iso of Valorant’s abilities, “The goal was to create an exciting duelist that emphasized gunplay and excitement. We had a few outputs we wanted to avoid, especially mobility and healing. Since we weren’t doing Mobility or Healing, I wanted Iso to feel distinct and what I’d call a Juggernaut. It’s why we created his shield and that he’d run a team through and keep on going without mobility or healing.”
