MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) will be releasing a new lottery game with a P1 billion grand prize for the winner.
“We will pattern it after the Powerball sa US. This is a different jackpot game,” Robles said in a TeleRadyo Serbisyo interview. Twenty percent of the prize money will go to taxes.
As part of the PCSO’s ‘Handog Pakabog‘ Christmas program, the minimum jackpot prize for the Grand Lotto 6/55 and Ultra Lotto 5/58 games was recently raised to P500 million.
On Tuesday night, a fortunate bettor from Quezon City secured a joyous Christmas celebration by winning the P311 million jackpot in the 6/49 Super Lotto.
“Kagabi lang tumama. The ticket was bought somewhere in Quezon City,” Robles said.
He mentioned that the jackpot escalated from P89 million in October to surpassing P300 million this week.
Meanwhile, the PCSO has recently introduced its online lottery system, known as E-lotto, which is a web-based platform accessible to Filipinos aged 18 and above, including those living abroad.
According to Robles, bettors are required to present a Philippine government-issued ID, a Philippine SIM number, and an e-wallet to participate.
