WEATHER UPDATE — According to the Philippines Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Southwest Monsoon affects Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, causing severe flooding in areas of the region.
While Southwest Monsoon continues to affect Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, weather in the areas may still be normal, sunny, and hot. The western section of Luzon will have light to moderate wind speeds directed from Southwest to South, with slight to moderate coastal water conditions. The rest of the country will have light to moderate wind speeds as well, directing from Southwest to West, with the coastal water conditions being slight to moderate levels.

Metro Manila, Visayas, Mindanao, MIMAROPA, Bataan, Zambales, Cavite, and Batangas will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms that is caused by Southwest Monsoon impacting the areas with possible flooding or landslides due to moderate with at times heavy rains.
As for the rest of Luzon, the weather conditions will be cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by the Southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms, which impact the areas with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Although the majority of the areas have been listed as having rain showers or thunderstorms, areas will mostly be fair during the morning and early afternoon as the rain sets in during the late afternoon of the day.
Gale warnings have not been issued as the wind speeds will be in normal conditions, not affecting shipping ports in the Philippines.
PAGASA advised general flood advisories. Due to the Southwest Monsoon, Visayas and Mindanao will be experiencing flooding due to the heavy rain caused by the Southwest Monsoon.
