MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Singer-songwriter Moira dela Torre and husband Jason Hernandez have confirmed their breakup through a post on May 31, 2022, where Jason Hernandez admits his “unfaithfulness.”
In a post by Jason Hernandez over his social media accounts, he shared a joint statement with Moira announcing the end of their marriage, requesting privacy at this time.
“It is with a heavy heart that after three years of marriage, we announce that we are parting ways. Our love and respect for each other remains. We request for privacy during this difficult time,” said the statement.
In the caption of the Instagram post, Jason also gave a brief explanation of their breakup, admitting that he has been unfaithful to his wife.
“Though my love for her has always been genuine, a few months ago, I confessed to Moira that I have been unfaithful to her during our marriage,” he said.
“I believe that she deserved to know the truth rather than continue down a “peaceful” but dishonest path,” the singer continued.
Jason ends the post saying sorry to everyone he has hurt, especially Moira.
“From the bottom of my heart, I’m sorry for everyone I hurt. Especially Moi,” he said.
The former couple, who has been best friends for years, tied the knot back in January 2019. However, in April this year, Moira deleted posts of her husband on her social media accounts. Fans also claimed that she removed the surname “Hernandez” from her Facebook account profile.
Fans were quick to speculate, and cheating rumours surfaced. But both singers denied any issues regarding their marital status.
Meanwhile, fans were in an uproar on social media, with “Moira” trending on Twitter.
One fan said: “Little did Moira know, all the heartbreak songs she made were really all for her.”
Others also mentioned how her song Paubaya now has a deeper meaning.
