Maris Racal and Anthony Jennings have worked on multiple projects together in the past few months, leading fans to speculate that he was the cause of the separation. To further clarify the reason for their breakup, Maris said, “Anthony is out of the picture. It’s just me and Rico. Mainly me, I’m the issue.”

Maris Racal unexpectedly announced her breakup with the singer during a press conference. She revealed, “Ang rami kasing tanong about him and I’m tired of smiling and nodding. I’m so scared because if I announce it, then it’s real. Rico and I are over.”
The actress’ grief was evident during this event, especially since the breakup was still so fresh. They were just over for a few weeks before she made the announcement a few days ago.
Despite differing online opinions about her relationship with Rico Blanco, mainly due to their age gap, the actress revealed they were very happy and in love. In her mid-twenties, Maris hinted that their breakup was due to her age. She even mentioned feeling like she was skipping her twenties.
She stated, “I told him my problems, my issues, and he took it like a man. It was a very difficult talk because I love him so much, and he loves me, but I have so many questions about my life and how I will go on sa buhay.”

After announcing her breakup, the actress took to Instagram. She is currently promoting her upcoming movie, “Marupok AF.” During the press conference for the movie, the actress admitted to having been marupok herself in past relationships.
“Kung ang movie natin A+, ako marupok AF, as in. Naalala ko sa sobrang marupok at broken-hearted ko, nakagawa ako ng album. Pinagkakitaan ko ‘yung mga ginawa sa akin kasi hello, kailangan ko ng pera!”
Maris Racal added, “It’s me taking my power back. Sinaktan mo ako, I’m gonna write a song about you.”
