Marcelito Pomoy is now a Grand Finalist in ‘America’s Got Talent: The Champions’
Filipino dual vocalist Marcelito Pomoy has once again earned a standing ovation from both the audience and the judges at the international talent show, America’s Got Talent: The Champions, following his jaw-dropping voice switching performance Sunday.
“I believe you have the best shot of winning this whole thing,” judge Howie Mandel commended Pomoy’s mind-blowing performance. “This is the semi-finals, you raised your game,” he added.
Mandel also joked about Pomoy’s inner female voice having a tough time keeping up with his powerful manly voice. “The woman in you was just as good as she was the last time, but you [were] the man—you went up a notch.”
Judges Heidi Klum and Alesha Dixon both lauded the Filipino vocalist’s performance. Klum praised his song choice, while Dixon admitted Pomoy is her favorite act this season.
“I’ve been waiting all day for you to come on to the stage. For me, you are my favorite,” Dixon commented.
Lastly, Simon Cowell has also acknowledged the undeniable talent of the Filipino vocalist. However, he noted, “I think you’ve got to take a bigger risk because now, the surprise is now over.”
Nevertheless, Cowell remarked that with Pomoy’s gift, the veteran judge can perceive a massive career waiting for the Filipino singer.
Accordion player Hans, violinist Tyler Butler-Figueroa, dog tricks act Alexa Lauenburger, and two acrobatics acts Sandau Trio Russian Bar and Duo Transcend. They will be joining the Golden Buzzer acts Angelina Jordan, Boogie Storm, V.Unbeatable, and Silhouettes at the grand finals.
