Proudly Pinoy: Marcelito Pomoy advances to ‘America’s Got Talent’ semi-finals
Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) Season 2 winner Marcelito Pomoy has advanced to the semifinal round of the international talent-search competition “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” on January 13 (January 14 in the Philippines).
Pomoy, who started impressing the world after stepping into the national stage of PGT back in 2011, has earned a standing ovation from the judges after his jaw-dropping performance of The Prayer with his signature dual-voice.
Judges Howie Mandel and Alesha Dixon both lauded the uniqueness of his talent. Mandel further added, “you are a beautiful singer—with a young woman trapped inside of you.”
“Honestly, this is one of the craziest things I have ever heard in my entire life,” Heidi Klum commented.
Meanwhile, Simon Cowell has urged Mandel to hit the Golden Buzzer but sadly refused. He explained that Pomoy’s talent was so worthy of the Golden Buzzer, however, the night is still young, and he only has one Act to choose. But then, Mandel turned to the Super Fans and urged them to vote for him to advance in the semi-finals. Nevertheless, Cowell rated Pomoy’s performance a perfect 10.
