MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Liza Soberano attends her first Hollywood premiere for ‘Lisa Frankestein’ which captures the eye of the media in the said event, including American filmmaker and producer Joe Russo.
The Filipina actress made her red carpet debut at the international premiere of “Lisa Frankenstein” on Tuesday, February 6.
Liza wore an eye-catching column gown with elaborate black lace accents and a variety of fabric designs.
The dress was initially designed by Olivier Theyskens for his runway show during Tahiti Fashion Week in June 2022.
Oliver has collaborated with prestigious fashion brands such as Theory, Rochas, and Nina Ricci.
Currently holding the position of artistic director for the French-Italian brand Azzaro is the Belgian fashion designer.
Liza accessorized with a stylish Jimmy Choo purse and a black floral necklace.
A matching pair of Jimmy Choo high heels completed her look.
Soberano assumes the part of Taffy, Lisa’s compassionate stepsister. As the complete opposite of the clichéd “mean girl,” Taffy is kind and sincere, and she embraces Lisa into her family.
The lead actress Kathryn Newton wrote, “You are the best part of this film,” in a flattering Instagram thread after Liza Soberano shared a scene from Universal Pictures’ “Lisa Frankenstein” early last month.
While some may find Kathryn’s statement condescending, others may find it surprisingly humble, but director Zelda Williams and Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody weren’t wrong.
Today, February 7, marks the premiere of “Lisa Frankenstein” in Philippine theaters.
The Gothic novel “Frankenstein” by English author Mary Shelley served as the inspiration for the movie. It centers on Lisa, a misunderstood adolescent played by Kathryn, and Cole, a gorgeous corpse who happens to be Lisa’s high school crush.
Liza began a new chapter in her life in 2023 when she joined James Reid’s talent agency. American director Joe Russo praised Liza Soberano for being a scene-stealer in “Lisa Frankenstein.”
