While the assurance of a COVID-free world is yet to be sealed, it should not stop us from planning a great and eventful 2021!
(UPDATE – 2/26/2021) — President Rodrigo Duterte has amended the list of holidays for 2021, declaring fewer non-working days as part of efforts to spur economic recovery, CNN Philippines reported.
Under Proclamation No. 1107, signed on Friday, three previously declared special holidays are now special working days. These are Nov. 2 (All Souls’ Day), Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve), and Dec. 31 (New Year’s Eve).
President Rodrigo Duterte signed Proclamation No. 986 (s.2020) on July 30, 2020, declaring the Regular Holidays and Special non-working days for the year 2021.

“The proclamation declaring national holidays for the observance of Eidul Fitr and Eidul Adha shall hereafter be issued after the approximate dates of the Islamic holidays have been determined in accordance with the Islamic calendar (Hijra) or lunar calendar or upon Islamic astronomical calculations, whichever is possible or convenient,” the Proclamation read.
In addition, the Department of Labor and Employment shall promulgate the implementation guidelines for this Proclamation.
