MANILA PHILIPPINES — Karylle acknowledged the imperfections in her marriage with husband Yael Yuzon, who proposed once again on the set of It’s Showtime yesterday, coinciding with their upcoming 10th wedding anniversary.

The Sponge Cola vocalist, Yael Yuzon, knelt down in front of the live audience and extended a renewed proposal to his wife during the show. The couple tied the knot in 2014 but has yet to welcome any children into their lives.

While the public often perceives their relationship as ideal, Karylle shared her genuine sentiments, stating, “Sobra akong confused kasi siguro marami akong naririnig na magagandang bagay about our relationship. People are praising us but I don’t wanna say that we have a perfect marriage.”

The singer and host elaborated on the challenges of marriage, emphasizing the continuous effort required for a successful partnership.

She reflected on the beauty of Yuzon’s composition, their wedding theme song, which echoed the sentiment, ‘dahil kilala na kita, ang nais ko lang ay makilala ka pa’ (because I already know you, all I want is to know you more).

Karylle revealed that they opted not to write vows during their wedding in 2014, uncertain about the future.

Instead, their commitment was rooted in the understanding that they would face challenges and failures but would persist in trying again and again.

“Marriage is hard and it’s a constant commitment, and I think maganda ‘yung ginawa niyang kanta ‘yung una naming theme song sa wedding, parang ‘dahil kilala na kita, ang nais ko lang ay makilala ka pa,’ Karylle expressed.

“Every day we keep on trying, doing, kasi hindi naman po siya perfect talaga, mahirap po talaga po ang marriage,” she added.

Karylle’s honesty about the challenges in her marriage sheds light on the reality of relationships and resonates with many who understand that perfection is not the goal but the continuous effort to understand, accept, and grow together.
