What is a Philippine Postal ID?
The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) first provided postal IDs to verify that letters and parcels were delivered to the correct recipients. It enables the postal carrier/mailman to authenticate your identity and address before you provide the item(s).
However, this ID card can now be used for more than simply postal transactions; It can also create a bank account and apply for other forms of government identification. It can also be used as identification while sending and receiving money, among other things.
What are the Postal ID requirements?
Postal ID requirements in 2022 for Filipino citizens:
- Since your photo and biometrics must be captured, you must be physically present at the post office while applying for the new postal ID.
- Two (2) copies of the fully completed Postal ID form in 2022.
- Any form of identification, such as birth certificate, government ID, passport, driver’s license, school ID, and so on.
- PROOF OF ADDRESS – Please submit one of the following:
- Barangay Certificate of Residency that is issued three months before Postal ID application
- Certified copies of lease or titles from the Land Registration Authority.
- Real Estate Tax Receipt
- Statement of Account
- Statement of Credit Card
- School Billing Statement
- A Utility Bill (cable, electric, internet, landline, telephone, water)
- The Philippine Statistic Authority issued marriage certificates to married women.
Postal ID requirements in 2022 needed for Foreign Residents in the Philippines:
- Since your photo and biometrics must be captured, you must be physically present at the post office while applying for the new postal ID.
- Two (2) copies of the fully completed Postal ID form in 2022.
- A passport valid for at least six months prior to application
- Any of the following documents about the applicant’s stay in the Philippines must be valid for at least six months before application.
- Alien Certificate of Registration Identity Card (ACRI-Card)
- Long Stay Visitor Visa Extension (LSVVE)
- Temporary Resident Visa (TRV)
- Diplomatic Visa
- Special Resident Retiree’s Visa (SRRV)
- Proof of address – Please submit one of the following
- Barangay Certificate of Residency granted within three (3) months of applying for a PID.
- Certification or statement of account from a motel, transient house, or any other temporary habitation obtained within three (3) months of application
- Certification from a motel, transient house, or any other temporary abode obtained within three (3) months of application
- Land, house, or condominium lease contract that has been notarized if applicable
- Bank statement
- Credit card statement
- School billing statement
- A bill for utilities (cable, electric, internet, landline, telephone, water)
Steps on how to get Postal ID in 2022
Applicants must have the requirements and complete the following processes to obtain a Postal ID in the Philippines:
STEP 1: COMPLETE THE POSTAL ID APPLICATION FORM.
Fill in all the required information to avoid delays in receiving your ID.
STEP 2: SUBMIT ALL OF YOUR POSTAL IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS.
Go to the nearest Post Office and submit your requirements there. All your provided documents will be verified and validated by their office personnel.
STEP 4: HAVE YOUR BIOMETRICS FOR YOUR POSTAL ID CARD TAKEN.
You will be directed to a Postal ID capture station, where your biometrics (photo, fingerprints, and signature) will be digitally captured. An additional 260 capture stations are positioned throughout the Philippines at various malls and post offices.
STEP 5: RECEIVE YOUR POSTAL ID.
If you applied within Metro Manila, your ID should arrive within 10 to 15 working days of your application. Wait for roughly twenty (20) working days for your ID in other big cities and municipalities and thirty (30) working days in outlying barangays and island provinces.
