HOLYWOOD, USA — Marvel Studios has released the official trailer of Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3. The brand-new trailer debuted at the Brazil Comic Con.
Watch the official trailer below:
The film is set to release in theaters on May 5, 2023.
The official trailer shows the guardians gearing to return to their role as protectors of the galaxy after the five-year snap of Thanos in which only two of the team survived – Rocket and Gamora.
Gamora (Zoe Saldana) also returns, although she is from another timeline since Quill’s (Chris Pratt) real partner died after being sacrificed by Thanos to get the soul stone.
Fans are also treated to Will Poulter’s Adam Warlock and the fan-favorite Lady Lylla, an ultra-rich otter, said to be the soulmate of Rocket Racoon (Bradley Cooper).
Marvel Studios describes the third volume of the movie series as follows: “Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians.”
There is no doubt that the third film is going to be an emotional one since the trailer portrays a sombre atmosphere, with Rocket being uncharacteristically emotional in his monologue.
“Pete, I’m done running. We’ll all fly away together… One last time into the forever and beautiful sky,” he said.
Fans are in a frenzy, spinning theories that Rocket may bid his farewell to the team. Although it is a very real possibility, Volume 3 is the last of the Guardians of the Galaxy series, making this indeed the team’s last farewell to the fans.
