Cagayan de Oro, Philippines – Developers Connect Philippines (DevCon) CDO chapter launched its 2019 Summit last November 9 held at Capitol University.
With the theme: The Future of Jobs. Embracing Industry 4.0, the summit focused on imparting to the participants the latest trends, tools, and best practices in the IT industry. Also, participants were given ideas on how far IT careers opportunities have grown, especially in CDO and Northern Mindanao.
Furthermore, the summit gave yet again a venue for participants to connect with DevCon’s invited speakers. Some of these speakers include: Amihan Global Strategies Chairman & DevCon PH Founder WinstonDamarillo, who opened the summit by setting up the expectations; DevCon PH Executive Vice President HaifaCarinaBaluyos who presented the results from the Developers Survey regarding today’s in-demand skills; Microsoft Asia Pacific Lead Developer AnnieMatthew, who talked about the potential game-changers in the future of Artificial Intelligence; and Jobstreet Philippines Sales Manager RyanTordesillas, who gave his input on Job Trends in the IT Industry. NEDA 10 OIC-ARD LeonilaCajarte also joined and presented about the long-term strategic plan of CDO’s economic development plan.
During lunch break, participants were able to roam around and visit booths from exhibitors of different businesses and organizations that take part in the IT industry.
For the afternoon activities, a couple of more speakers imparted their knowledge on different areas and topics, giving the participants insight and tips on how to cope up and take advantage of the growing tech industry in the city.
DevCon Kids also launched its Robotics Competition.
More than 500 participants joined this year’s summit. Microsoft, Smart, and PLDT all co-presented the summit.
