MANILA, Philippines – The local government units in Visayas and Mindanao announced the suspension of classes on December 18, Monday due to Tropical Storm Kabayan.
In the most recent tropical cyclone update from PAGASA, it was disclosed that the tropical storm is currently characterized by maximum winds of 65 kilometers per hour at its center, accompanied by gusts reaching up to 80 kph.
Additionally, PAGASA has issued Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 for six areas in Mindanao. Residents in these regions may experience mild to moderate impacts from strong winds.
In response to this advisory, the local government unit (LGU) of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, has declared the suspension of work in both government and private offices.
Here are the list of places where suspension of classes was implemented:
Visayas (all level)
- Bohol
- Negros Oriental
- Siquijor
Mindanao (all level)
- Dinagat Island
- Surigao Del Norte
All private and public schools were included in the suspension of classes.
