CAGAYAN DE ORO, PHILIPPINES – A pawnshop shop robbed by armed men earlier this morning.
Approximately 8 to 9 million worth of jewelry were robbed after six men approached Gold Mega Pawnshop in Cogon, fronting Ororama. The men were said to be armed with both high-powered and short firearms. An alleged 45 caliber, 9mm, and M4 carbine were said to be possessed by the victims during the incident.
According to reports, the robbery took place around 10 AM. The incident circulated online after a local news page iFM CDO posted multiple videos of the actual scene taken from different perspectives. In the video, some men were seen going into the pawn shop while the remaining suspects waited outside. The suspects were parked just outside the pawn shop with their motorcycles.
The suspects were said to have been possibly monitoring the pawn shop’s opening and closing time, as well as the type of jewelry available.
During the incident, the suspects reportedly shot the padlock so they could gain access to the pawn shop. In addition, the pawn shop didn’t have a security guard active on shift which gave the suspects an easier time committing robbery at the said pawn shop.
Currently, the local police station is on hot pursuit and couldn’t disclose further information regarding the robbery incident, but stated that they now have possible leads regarding the robbery incident. – WhatALife!/Val
