Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno today is expected to write a letter requesting the national COVID-19 Inter-Agency Task Force to raise the quarantine level of the city from modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) to general community quarantine (GCQ) due to the rapidly increasing number of positive cases daily.

As of Thursday, May 27, the total cumulative COVID-19 infections in the city is 6,741, with 1,085 active cases, 296 deaths, and 5,360 recoveries. City Health officials also reiterate to the public to strictly follow the minimum health standards, such as wearing masks and observing social distance to help stop the spread.
