SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA — International superstars BLACKPINK has released the music video of their new single “Pink Venom.” Watch the music video below:
As of writing, the music video has over 6.8 million views, just 20 minutes after its release.
BLACKPINK’s comeback after 2 years has promised fans new music and visuals. The music video for the pre-release single “Pink Venom” was released today, August 19 at 1 pm KST or 12 nn in the Philippines.
The song itself uses strong beat and sounds from traditional Korean instruments. The music video and the lyrics, meanwhile, showcases the girls in their trademark fierce visuals.
Fans are ecstatic as they see the different members showcased in various parts of the MV. For instance, Jisoo playing a traditional Korean instrument, Rose playing an electric guitar, and JENLISA (Jennie and Lisa) rapping together.
The music video has reached 10 million views under one hour. It also easily surpassed five million views in just 12 minutes. The K-pop girl group’s Youtube account has reportedly reached 77 million subscibers, marking them as the “first and only” musical artist to reach the milestone in history.
In a report by billboard.com, BLACKPINK has partnered with Youtube for the #PinkVenomChallenge which will run through until September 19, the release of their full album Born Pink.
The challenge urges fans to create and share their best dance moves from the music video on Youtube Shorts and adding the hashtag.
At the moment, Pink Venom ranks at Top 1 in iTunes in many countries worldwide, including the Philippines. In the United States, Pink Venom is now ranked within top 10 in iTunes.
On Twitter, #PINKVENOM has surpassed 2 million tweets and remains the number 1 trending topic worldwide.
BLACKPINK will also perform Pink Venom at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards on August 28. — WhatALife!
