MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Notable Filipino band Ben&Ben will be sharing their music with Star Cinema’s classic, “One More Chance”, in the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA).

The twin brothers said in a statement, “This is a dream project for us. Needless to say, we are fans of the John Lloyd Cruz (Popoy) and Bea Alonza (Basha) movie.”

The musical by the Philippine Educational Theater Association called “One More Chance, the Musical” will also showcase the association’s successful jukebox musicals from “Rak of Aegis” to “Three Stars and a Sun,” with music from the late Francis Magalona.

PETA’s run of the musical will be starting in April 2024. The announcement for the classical Filipino film musical adaptation was made in “Walang Aray”  ‘s curtain call on Sunday, October 22.

Lead actors of “Walang Aray” Gio Gahol and Marynor Madamesila, who played lovers Tenyong and Julia, reenacted the iconic Filipino cinematic scene from “One More Chance.” In this prominent garden scene, Popoy says to Basha, “You had me at my best, she had me at my worst.”

Johnnie Moran, who portrayed the villain Padre Alfaro for “Walang Aray”, made the announcement. After Moran’s announcement, members of Ben&Ben appeared on the stage and performed their hits, “Kathang Isip” and “Araw Araw”.

Vocalist Miguel Benjamin shared that it was choreographer-actor for PETA, Gio Gahol, who taught the members of Ben&Ben to dance, “or at least some dance moves.” Gahol was also the choreographer for the “Walang Aray” production.

With this revelation from the vocalist, the crowd began to cheer, “sample, sample, sample.” Benjamin asked the crowd to quiet down and said, “Huwag na po. Wait lang. The common reaction when we dance on TikTok is like this: ‘Grabe ang galing niyo talaga kumanta. Buti nalang naging banda kayo.” Which led the crowd to erupt in laughs and cheers.

In this segment, Miguel asked the crowd “Meron po akong tanong… If you had one more chance, pipiliin niyo pa rin ba siya araw araw?” Then the band began to transition into their second song of the night, their hit “Araw-araw”.
