MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Actor-filmmaker Ricky Rivero passed away on Sunday, July 16.
Former teen star turned actor-filmmaker Ricky Rivero has died at 51 years old.
This was after the actor’s sister confirmed his passing to ABS-CBN NEWS.
“He passed away at 2:25 this morning,” Beverly Salvador-Quintela wrote in a message.
In addition, Rivero’s boyfriend also confirmed his passing in a Facebook post and thanked everyone who helped the actor.
“Good morning po sa inyong lahat. Maraming salamat po sa tumulong sa asawa ko na [si] Ricky. Ngayon wala na po si Ricky S Rivero namayapa na po,” the post read. “Maraming salamat sa walang sawang tulong sa asawa ko.”
His boyfriend then shared a photo of them together in a follow-up post, where he thanked Rivero for his love through the years.
“Asawa pahinga kana wala kanang sakit na mararamdaman. Salamat sa isang taong pagsasama, isang taong [pag-aaway] isang taong kasiyahan. madaming salamat sa lahat asawa. mahal na mahal kita Ricky S Rivero.”
Moreover, Actor-politician Herbert Bautista extended his Condolences to Rivero’s family on Facebook.
“Malungkot na araw dahil sa pag-panaw ng isang kaibigan at kasamahan sa pelikula at telebisyon. Paalam, Ricky. Nakikiramay ang aming pamilya sa Salvador at Rivero Families,” Bautista wrote.
He then accompanied his post with Ricky’s photo and the movie poster for their 1986 film “Ninja Kids,” along with Lea Salonga, J.C. Bonnin, Ramon Christopher, Dennis da Silva and the late Francis Magalona.
Rivero is also best known for his appearance on the variety show “That’s Entertainment.” The actor is also best known for his films “Eva Fonda” and “D’ Aswang Slayerz.
Rivero was rushed to the Philippine Heart Center last May after suffering from a stroke, per a Philippine Entertainment Portal report. – WhatALife!/Val
