WEATHER UPDATE — According to the Philippines Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the center of the eye of Typhoon “JENNY” {KOINU} was estimated based on all available data at 675 km East of Aparri, Cagayan (18.8°N, 128.0°E) with maximum sustained winds of 120 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 150 km/h at 3:00 AM today. It is moving Northwestward at 10 km/h. Southwest Monsoon affects Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, and Bicol Region will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by a trough of Typhoon Jenny. Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.
On the other hand, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, and MIMAROPA will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the Southern Monsoon. Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by troughs of TY Jenny or localized thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
According to PAGASA’s Forecast Wind and Coastal Water Condition, Extreme Northern Luzon has strong wind speeds directed to the north with rough coastal water (2.8 to 4.0 meters).
Meanwhile, Northern and Central Luzon have light to moderate wind speeds directed from north to northwest with slight to moderate (0.6 to 2.5 meters) coastal water conditions.
The rest of the country has light to moderate wind speeds directed from southwest to west with slight to moderate (0.6 to 2.1 meters) coastal water conditions.
