WEATHER UPDATE — According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the ITCZ (Intertropical Convergence Zone) continues to affect Southern Mindanao, while Northern Luzon is affected by the Amihan or the Northeast Monsoon.
The PAR (Philippine Area of Responsibility) is clear, and Pagasa is not monitoring any LPAs (Low-Pressure Areas) or any storms that may affect the country. However, for the month of November, two to three storms are expected to form in the PAR.
“Ngayong Nobyembre nga inaasahan natin yung dalawa o tatlong bagyo parin ang maaring mabuo o pumasok sa loob ng Philippine Area of Responsibility,” said PAGASA Weather Forecaster Obet Badrina.
(This November, we expect that two or three storms may be formed or will enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility)
The whole country will experience isolated rainshowers, which can last from 30 minutes to one hour. However, thunderstorm activities are less likely to occur in the time of Amihan compared to the rainy season.
Southern Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ. This weather system results from the collision of winds between the northern and southern hemispheres, bringing rain to affected landmasses.
The cloud clusters in the ITCZ can grow into an LPA.
