WEATHER UPDATE — According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), earlier at 3 AM, the Low-Pressure Area (LPA) was spotted 210 KM East Northeast of Davao City. The LPA will not intensify into a typhoon during the next 48 hours and will likely stay that way. However, it will bring rain showers to various areas in Visayas and Mindanao.
Meanwhile, the Shear Line continues to affect the eastern section of Southern Luzon and brings cloudy skies, scattered rain showers, and thunderstorms in some parts of the Bicol Region.
The Northeast Monsoon, or Amihan, which carries cold winds, cloudy skies, and rain showers, also continues to affect the remaining parts of Luzon, especially in the regions of Northern and Southern Luzon, Metro Manila, and the neighboring provinces.
WEATHER TODAY – DECEMBER 21, 2022
For today’s weather forecast in Luzon, cloudy skies and rain showers are expected in Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), and some provinces of Aurora caused by the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan. Meanwhile, the Bicol Region will experience scattered rain showers caused by the Shear Line. Residents are warned of potential flooding and landslides.
The remaining areas of Luzon will experience cloudy skies and isolated rain showers. Temperatures range from 22 degrees Celcius to 32 degrees Celcius.
Parts of Visayas and Mindanao may expect cloudy skies, scattered rain showers, and thunderstorms, including areas in Eastern and Central Visayas, CARAGA, and Davao Region caused by the LPA. Residents are warned of possible landslides and flooding.
The rest of Visayas and Mindanao are forecast to experience cloudy skies, isolated rain showers, thunderstorms due to the LPA and localized thunderstorms. Temperatures range from 24 degrees Celcius to 31 degrees Celcius.
