WATCH: BTS’ Jin set 2021 soloist record for ‘Jirisan’ OST song

BTS’ Jin recently set a 2021 record for K-pop soloists with his new OST song for tvN’s Jirisan.

The 28-year-old idol released his highly-anticipated soundtrack Yours earlier this monthwhich soared to the top of global iTunes charts soon after.

According to Soompi, as of 4:30 AM KST on November 8, Yours had already hit No. 1 on iTunes Top Songs charts in at least 82 different regions. This includes the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, France, Germany, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Indonesia, Malaysia, Italy, Mexico, Norway, Russia, Thailand, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates, the Philippines, and more—setting a new record for K-pop solo songs released in 2021.

Jin also made a brief appearance in the OST’s music video, released Sunday. Watched the MV below.



Jirisan, which premiered on October 23, is tvN’s 15th Anniversary Special Drama available simultaneously with Korea on iQIYI for streaming worldwide. It is named after the eponymous mountain in South Korea, starring Jun ji-hyun and Ju Ji-hoon. The drama follows the rangers and other employees of the Jirisan National Park who climb through the mysterious and unexplored regions of the mountain, trying to rescue the survivors and lost trekkers. Jin’s Yours is the main theme song of the drama and will play at key moments in the story. – WhatALife.ph
