WEATHER UPDATE — According to the Philippines Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the center of the eye of Typhoon Betty was estimated based on all available data at 320 km East of Itbayat, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 120 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 150 km/h. It is moving North Northwestward slowly.
Due to the typhoon, the southwest monsoon has also started affecting areas causing moderate to heavy rains which would cause areas to have cautionary actions against the weather. Coastal water conditions rise in Northern Luzon, the rest of Luzon and Visayas, and Mindanao as there will be moderate to strong speed for winds and rough coastal water conditions.
Weather Today – May 31, 2023
For today’s weather forecast, typhoon Betty will be affecting Batanes and Cagayan, causing the areas to experience gusty winds while impacting these areas with flooding or landslides due to the heavy rain they will be experiencing. There will be a minor threat to lives and properties due to the strong winds caused by the typhoon.
Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and Western Visayas will be affected by the Southwest monsoon caused by typhoon Betty. Weather will be cloudy skies with rain showers and thunderstorms impacting the areas with flash floods or landslides because of the heavy rains. Weather will be mostly clear as the rain may start during the late afternoon.
The rest of the country will experience cloudy skies with rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the southwest monsoon.

- Occidental Mindoro
- Antique
- Aklan
- Cuyo Islands
- Calamian Islands
- Northern portion of mainland Palawan
