MANILA, Philippines – Social Security System (SSS) announced in a statement, the deadline for the unclaimed UMID cards will be December 29, 2023.
“After the deadline, the unclaimed cards, including those that the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) returned to SSS after two unsuccessful delivery attempts, will be disposed of based on SSS’ retention policy,” SSS said in a statement.
Disposal of UMID cards is only applicable for members who applied for their UMID cards between August 2017 to December 2020.
Starting February 2023, the Social Security System (SSS) has stopped accepting applications for standard UMID cards. However, they are now exclusively providing UMID ATM Pay Cards to SSS members with existing or pending UMID cards application.
SSS has also revealed a new collaboration with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) to incorporate the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) into their operations and offerings. This collaboration includes the issuance of an SSS card with ATM functionality for first-time applicants under the PhilSys.
UMID ID is a Multi Purpose Id introduced in 2010, it can utilize transactions with SSS, Governments Service Insurance System, the Philippine Health Insurance System and the Pag-IBIG Fund.
