WEATHER UPDATE — According to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), super typhoon Mawar is getting closer to the Philippines as it is now 2,215km East of Visayas, hitting a maximum speed of 185 km/h. The now-categorized “super typhoon” is moving northwestward slowly, soon to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Friday.
The cyclone was recorded outside of PAR at 3:00 AM today. Typhoon Mawar is also expected to enhance the southwesterly wind flow causing more thunderstorms and isolated rain showers in the western parts of Visayas and Mindanao.
There have been no warnings as of yet. However, the coastal conditions for Northern Luzon will be at a moderate height of 1.2 to 2.1 meters due to the typhoon. The rest of Luzon and the rest of the country will have moderate coastal water conditions.

For today’s weather forecast, Northern Luzon may experience cloudy skies and rain due to the Frontal System. Thunderstorms and rain showers will be expected in Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and other areas.
The moderate winds from Northeast to East will affect Northern Luzon, while winds from Southwest to South will prevail around the Province of Aurora, causing moderate coastal waters.
The temperature in Northern Luzon will range from 22°C to 35°C.
As for Metro Manila and the rest of the country, the southwesterly wind flow may bring thunderstorms and rain showers with cloudy skies during the afternoon. After a short period, there will be fair weather across the country.
Temperatures for NCR, Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will range from 24°C to 36°C.
