WEATHER UPDATE – According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Northeast Monsoon affects Northern Luzon, Easterlies affect the eastern sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
Weather Update Today – December 21, 2023
PAGASA’s weather update today (December 21, 2023) says Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, and Kalayaan Islands will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by Shear Line / Trough of LPA. Possible flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to heavy rains.
Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, Ilocos Norte, and Ilocos Sur will also experience cloudy skies with rains caused by Northeast Monsoon. Possible flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate at times heavy rains.
The rest of Ilocos Region will encounter partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains caused by Northeast Monsoon with no significant impact.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will also encounter partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by Easterlies / Localized Thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
According to PAGASA’s Wind and Coastal Water forecast, Northern Luzon has Strong wind speed directed to Northeast with Rough / (2.8 to 5.5 meters).
The rest of Luzon, and the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao has Moderate to Strong wind speed directed to the East facing Northeast with Moderate to Rough / (1.2 to 3.0 meters).
The rest of the country has Light to Moderate wind speed directed to the East facing Northeast with Slight to Moderate / (0.6 to 2.5 meters) coastal water conditions.
Under present weather conditions, Northeast Monsoon affects Northern Luzon, Easterlies affect the eastern sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
