WEATHER UPDATE — According to the Philippines Atmospheric, Geophysical, and

Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will affect Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.

PAGASA has shown that the ITCZ will cause heavy rainy weather around Visayas and Mindanao with possible threats of flooding in several areas with lightning and thunderstorms covered all over the region.

Weather Today – July 11, 2023

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be experiencing partly cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms that’s caused by the ITCZ and localized thunderstorms, which may allow the possibility of flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms in certain areas.

Although the whole country is affected by ITCZ, the weather will be normal mostly through the early afternoon for Luzon. However, there may be heavy rain during the evening. Visayas and Mindanao, on the other hand, will have rainy weather early on, with lightning and thunderstorms coming.

Forecast wind and coastal water conditions will be normal. Luzon and Visayas will have a light to moderate wind speed directed from Northeast to Northwest, with the waters being 0.4 to 1.5 meters of height.

Same for Mindanao, the wind speed will be light to moderate, with winds directed from West to Southwest.

PAGASA has issued a possible threat of flooding to these areas as well:

  • Eastern Samar
  • Southern Leyte
  • Negros Oriental
  • Bohol
  • Cebu
  • Siquijor
  • Lanao Del Norte
  • Bukidnon
  • BARMM
